Why didn’t you publish the name of the lyrics writer of this song?
Without his beautiful, poetic words would there be a song for Amara Ranatunga to sing. ?
This is not the first time it happened. Those writers are now gone, even people don’t know there names. People don’t care.

Totally agree with you on the point of naming the writers and composers
If you check my site I make every effort to put them on . That’s why my site is different to others. Intact I add the movies the song is in as well. You will see my pop up is also asking people to contribute by giving me the names of the writers and composers. SO I’m proud to say I do not deserve the blame 🙂
It is not easy to find the writers and composers . I’m sure you can help me by giving that information on this song or any other song on this site so I can add that. Could you please?

This song ” Selalihiniyo Umba danne ne….” was written by Dr Ajantha Ranasinghe for the sarala gee programme of Amara Ranatunga in 1976 or 77. Music was composed by Amara’s husband Dayaratne Ranatunga. I was there in the SLBC that day when the song was being recorded. So I am one of those lucky people to listened to the song when Amara Ranatunga first sang it.
